Approvals and permissions
There are two separate safety layers. Knowing the difference makes everything quicker.
Layer 1: Claude asks before using Gridly
The first times you use Gridly, Claude shows a box: “Claude wants to use … from Gridly” with Allow once or Always allow. This is Claude's own safety feature. It applies to every connector, not just Gridly.
- Allow once approves that single use.
- Always allow remembers your choice for that tool.
A quicker setup for read-only questions
Questions that only read your shop (sales, stock, customers) can't change anything. To stop being asked every time:
- Open claude.ai/customize/connectors and click Gridly.
- Under Tool permissions, find Read-only tools and change Needs approval to Always allow.
- Leave the tools that change things on Needs approval.
Layer 2: Gridly's own preview and approval
Separately, Gridly shows a preview of any change and waits for your yes, as explained here. This always applies, whatever you set in Claude.
“Use caution before running this prompt”
When you open a ready-made question from our recipes, Claude and ChatGPT may show a caution note. They do this for every pre-filled message from any website. Check that the question is the one you chose and press send.
